序
深圳大芬国际油画双年展,经历几度寒暑春秋,这一艺术盛事悄然来到了第三届,倾情向世人展现着深圳自由包容、发展进步的高雅气质。深圳大芬国际油画双年展不仅是众多艺术家竞相参与的全方位展示,也和这座城市发生着亲密互联,映衬了一个城市意趣、文明、发展的深厚底蕴,以及这座城市的参与度与开放性。
伴随大数据时代的城市迭代,双年展在表现城市质感、竞演城市文化软实力、普及民生公共艺术教育,在熔炼城市文化品牌和城市转型等,发挥着越来越大的价值,给城市文化生态输入了新鲜血液,已然成为国际化城市靓丽的艺术符号。
自1895年意大利威尼斯市举办首届视觉艺术双年展至今,双年展模式逐渐获得了国际认可。双年展是一个城市的节庆,双年展彰显着这座城市,城市张挂着双年展,双年展不断用艺术能量为城市赋能。从国际双年展的运行来看,当城市拥有属于自身的双年展,将进入全球艺术行游的目录,持续拉动城市的国际声誉和艺术市场,双年展成为城市魅力四射的艺术品牌。
除了侧重学术性以外,深圳大芬模式另外一个重要的特征则是文化的兼容性与务实性,观者能够享有自由的时空在深圳大芬享受艺术的饕餮。在纷扰的疫情之下,仍然可以领略国际艺坛油画创作的最新样貌、当代性的尽情诠释,文化景观、油画潮流与社会发展强力渗透、互联互通。
深圳一直是一个活跃的文化生态,自由舒展地调整属于自身的艺术定位,在不断迎来变革大潮的过程中,持续输出着蕴含的强大艺术能量,宛若一个艺术场域,在吸引着观者之时,也反过来塑造着这座城市的质感。深圳大芬国际油画双年展成为深圳当代艺术的互联、发展的蓄水池,将双年展延伸到城市艺术文化的互融、提升。
2022第三届深圳大芬国际油画双年展逐渐探索出了一条契合自身的运作向度,在“互联与发展”这一时代主题之下,城市助推艺术多元发展、展馆提高公共艺术服务水平、展览按专业模式铺陈开展,与人文情怀、城市生活与艺术生态交融纠合,有力彰显了时代主题,使得本次油画双年展成为喜闻乐见的盛典,是当代艺术创造与城市文化特色的集中展映,以其体量和内涵,构筑了宽阔的国际艺术交流平台,展现了深圳面向世界的文化襟怀。
城市迭代不仅在设施,更在于更新理念与模式。深圳大芬通过双年展让艺术介入、融入城市,构筑城市景观,是油画艺术媒介语言、观念形态的互联,是艺术创新与城市发展的融通,是艺术现场与公众参与的融洽,双年展的主题与深圳大芬的城市更新深深契合。
作为国际性的艺术展览,深圳的艺术土壤与精神气质影响着双年展的主题、框架;而深圳大芬国际油画双年展稳定、高质量地举办,必将为深圳城市面貌的改观、影响力的辐射,以及文化效益的提高荟聚积极影响,有望发展为国际艺术与文化的聚光之地。双年展用油画作品助力大湾区文化圈建设、深化大湾区与国际美术交流与合作,以当代油画的力量实现大湾区乃至世界城市文化的互联与发展。
2022第三届深圳大芬国际油画双年展“互联与发展”的艺术理念,打破艺术界隔、跨界融合,构筑了广阔的国际艺术交流平台,以深圳文化为根脉,发挥湾区地域相近的优势,在新时期凝聚艺术共识,用当代油画艺术讲述中国与世界的精彩故事。
深圳有着天然的当代艺术积蕴,对当代艺术品格有着如夸父逐日般的不舍追求,本次油画双年展代表了深圳的艺术眼界与人文情怀,深圳气质的双年展正在中国乃至国际艺术舞台孕育成熟!
Foreword
Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale, a great event celebrated in the art circle, is going to take place in Shenzhen in 2022 for the third time, once again to show the world the elegant and gorgeous image of Shenzhen — freedom, inclusiveness, development and progress. Dafen Biennale is not only an all-dimensional exhibition presented by artists, but also a window for people to have intimate connection with the city and for embracing its profound and entertaining culture, civilization and development, as well as its opening attitude for extensive recognition.
With the everlasting urban iteration and redevelopment in the era of big data, a biennale is playing an increasingly important role as a showcase of a city’s excellent qualities, including the soft power of the urban culture, the education and dissemination of art among the public, the brand building and civilization advancement, and the transformation of urban development. Full of vigor and energy, a biennale has become a spectacular artistic symbol of this international city by injecting fresh blood into its urban cultural ecology.
Since the first Venice Biennale held in Italy in 1895, the form of biennale exhibition has gradually gained international recognition. As the festival activity of a city, biennale banners and posters is seen everywhere, exhibiting both the connotation and outlook of the city, and radiating artistic energy to ignite passion of the city. From the perspective of the operation of an international biennale, when a city has its own biennale, it means this city has become an entry in the global catalog of artistic attractions, an upgrading and escalation of the city’s international reputation and artistic market, and in return the biennale has become a charming artistic brand and symbol of the city.
Besides its academic characteristic, another important feature of Dafen mode is its cultural compatibility and practicality, giving the visitors a time-space to enjoy art to the fullest extent. Still in the midst of the COVID-19, this time-space offers an exceptional opportunity for us to appreciate the latest trend of oil painting in the international art circle and admire the contemporary interpretations of art, where cultural landscape, artistic painting and social development are intensely interconnected and interpenetrated.
Being an active cultural ecology, Shenzhen has always been free in its artistic orientation and positioning. In the reform and opening up era where changing is the eternal topic, this city is attracting visitors with its artistic atmosphere and endless output and creation, continuously building the sense of beauty and sense of reality. Today, Dafen Biennale has become a reservoir for the interconnected development of contemporary art in Shenzhen, contributing to mutual integration and accomplishment of urban art and culture.
The 2022 Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale has gradually formed a unique feature and frame in its operation. Under the theme of “Connectivity & Development”, with the municipal government’s support for promoting diversified development, the public offering of art services at the exhibition hall has been improved to a professional level of exhibition, reflecting an inclusive merging and integration between humanistic feelings, urban life and artistic ecology, significantly highlighted the theme of the times, making this year’s biennale an amazing event for both the participants and the audience, who will find it a concentrated exhibition of contemporary art creation and unique urban culture, a platform for substantial and in-depth international art exchanges, and a showcase of the cultural inclusiveness of Shenzhen to the world.
Urban iteration is not only about facilities, it’s more about avant-garde ideas and modes. Dafen Biennale has become an integral force of the city contributing to the construction of a unique urban landscape, a place for interconnection between oil painting and art media, between language and ideology, a place for integration between artistic innovation and urban development, and a place of harmony between art shows and public participation, all of which proving the theme of the Biennale is completely in line with the urban redevelopment plan.
As a city hosting an international art exhibition, Shenzhen has the artistic soil and spirit suitable for the theme and frame of the Biennale. The sustainable and successful hosting of Dafen Biennale in the past years and this year will definitely bring positive effects, including enhanced urban image and influence, improved cultural benefits, and the increasing potential for Shenzhen to become a new center for international art and culture. The Biennale exhibition of numerous oil paintings is a meaningful effort for depicting and facilitating the construction of the cultural circle in the Greater Bay Area, pushing forward the exchanges and cooperation between the Greater Bay Area and international fine art galleries, and promoting the interconnected development of urban culture and art in the Greater Bay Area and in the world.
With the artistic concept of “Connectivity & Development” for 2022, Dafen Biennale aims to break cross-boundary separation and facilitate cross-boundary integration. Having built a broad platform for international art exchanges, with urban culture as the root and the proximity of the Greater Bay Area as the advantage, and by telling amazing stories about contemporary oil paintings associated with China and the world, the Biennale will help reach artistic consensus in the new era.
With nature reserve of contemporary art and a relentless pursuit for aesthetic value, this year’s biennale represents the artistic visions and humanistic feelings of Shenzhen City, the Shenzhen-style Biennale is becoming an increasingly mature event and forum on the Chinese and even the international art stage!
